Treatment Tailored To Fit Your Needs
We are a 12 step integrated program and we utilize all methods up to date that have been proven effective in treating addiction.
The twelve step philosophy states that addiction is a disease of a two-fold nature that combines a neuro-biological element of psychotropic-substance sensitivity with an obsession of the mind. Addictive behaviors, such as substance abuse disorders, present as a multifaceted behavioral and psychological disturbances that must be treated considering variabilities as well as commonalities among individuals. There is no “one size fits all” treatment protocol. We use proven effective treatments including: behavioral modification, Stress reduction therapy, coping skills development and group therapy with an emphasis on interpersonal awareness. Our program uses a cognitive behavioral approach to restructure faulty, underlying belief systems, decrease self destructive patterns and improve problem solving strategies. In addition to these clinically based treatments we also provide a spiritually enriching environment that includes eastern and western religious philosophy integrated with a universal “Will to Good” overall ideology.
We believe addiction of any type provides a shortcut to the brain’s reward system. Through a series of neuro-biological interchanges, the brain is essentially hijacked.
The chronic use of these shortcuts by way of repeated exposure to an addictive substance or behavior leads to damage to the brain. The repeated pattern creates unhealthy engrained circuitry leading to compulsive/impulsive behavior that drives us to take action to seek out the source of pleasure. This same neuro-biological system also affects motivation and memory and consequently causes not only lack of motivation but difficulty maintaining hope. Due to the complicated nature of addiction, our recovery program focuses on creating possibility and hope in MIND, BODY and SPIRIT. We believe that without support of all three, TRUE recovery is impossible.
You’re on the road to recovery because you're here now.
Who We Treat
We treat individuals with substance use disorders and family members with co-addictive patterns of behavior. We use a motivational theoretical approach.
Research has discovered that the old belief that an addict has to hit bottom and want to change is outdated. Modern motivational theory for treating substance abuse asserts that motivation for behavioral change can be implemented through specific therapeutic techniques and even the most resistant client can be redirected to a more willing and “open to change” state of mind. It is now believed that early intervention is preferable and more professionally responsible than waiting for an at risk person to hit bottom. The idea of intervening prior to developing more severe consequences also parallels the “early intervention” trend in mental health treatment.
What We Treat
CVC provides state-of-the-art, individually tailored, and holistic treatment for those struggling with the full spectrum of chemical dependency and co-occurring mental health issues.
Chemical addiction provides a shortcut to the brain’s reward system.
We treat all levels on the spectrum of Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD). This multidimensional approach is highly effective in treating AUD. The National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) has defined at-risk drinking as more than 4 drinks on any day or 14 drinks per week for men, or more than 3 drinks on any day or 7 drinks per week for women [source].
We focus on the mental disorders that either cause or are a result of substance abuse. Anxiety, depression and traumatic stress are some of the more common emotional disorders that lead to the development of maladaptive coping mechanisms such as chronic substance abuse. These co-occurring mental disorders disorders can be treated effectively with psychotherapy.
How We Treat It
We offer a variety of science-backed treatment methods that support the healing process keeping in mind the complexity of each individual. We treat the Whole Person– mind, body and spirit.
- Therapy: individual, group and family
- Behavioral modification: physical actions like routine schedule and habit creation train the mind to think differently.
- Psycho-education: we hold educational sessions several times per week so patients may develop a better understanding of themselves. These groups are “fireside” discussion groups focused on topics relating to addiction and the body. Topics include: neurotransmitters and the reward system in the brain, how exercise physically helps reduce stress, what meditation does to our neural pathways and how attachment at a young age shaped who you are today.
- Onsite M.D that can evaluate medical needs and evaluate and manage current medication or prescribe additional medication if needed.
- Organic meals
- Fitness barn
- Natural products that aid in toxin elimination and substance detox (both internal and external products)

Creating a strong therapeutic alliance is paramount. Our team has training in assessing the body, mind and spirit, in order to understand what is affecting the person. We look at the whole person, not just his or her symptoms.
We use group therapy to enhance and fast track the therapy process. Cognitive/behavioral group therapy has been proven to be the single most effective form of therapy in treating substance abuse.
We have weekly family support groups and use a family systems therapeutic format along with psycho-educational integration to address and correct co-addictive behaviors within the family system.
We are here with the support and resources needed to help you though this process.
